July 4th Festivities

About Fredericksburg Wine & Wineries Market Report Lodging

July 4th Festivities, 4th of July

This year you will be able to enjoy the All-American small town events Fredericksburg has to offer!

Everyone always wants to know about the 2022 4th of July parade! The parade will begin lining up behind the Gillespie County Courthouse at 8:00 a.m. The parade proceeds east on Main Street to the intersection of Main and Washington Street.  It will U-turn there and go west to Bowie Street.  Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or park a vehicle along the route to enjoy the parade. For more information visit the webpage HERE.

There will be a free patriotic program immediately following the parade at Marktplatz in the 100 block of West Main Street.  A band and patriotic messages will begin at about 11:30 a.m.  Bring a sack lunch and enjoy the music.

Anyone interested in participating in the parade or becoming involved with the planning is encouraged to contact fbgparade@gmail.com for more information.

The best way to end your 4th celebrations is with fireworks! The City of Fredericksburg will host the annual fireworks display from Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park and will begin just after dark. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket.

The July 4th holiday kicks off the summer horse racing season located at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 11 am and Post time is 1 pm. Entry fees are $10 adults; $5 kids 6 to 12 (under 6 is free); and $20 box seats.
